Yeah, I know, I've been real busy today...but this one was just too good to pass up:
AIKEN FANS MAKE GOOD ON THEIR PROMISE
LATEST: Nine former fans of AMERICAN IDOL star CLAY AIKEN are forging ahead with threats to sue his record label bosses for false advertising.
The one-time devotees have been shocked by recent US tabloid claims the wholesome pop singer is gay and they've filed a Federal Trade Commission complain against executives at RCA and Sony/BMG, alleging they were duped in marketing and promotional campaigns.
The nine-strong group, listing themselves as "aggrieved consumers" SUSAN J, PATRICIA A, JACQUELYN C, KAREN G, PHYLLIS S, CAROL M, KAREN G, KIM M and LINDA F, hail from all over America.
They allege that employees of RCA, Sony/BMG, and Aiken himself "engaged in collusion to prevent public disclosures they believed might be harmful to their product."
The angry ladies go on to state, "This is tantamount to a manufacturer concealing information about a defective product. Therefore these actions were both unfair and deceptive to consumers."
A spokeswoman for the group says, "As consumers, we feel ripped off. It is obvious now that the private Clay is very different from the manufactured packaged public Clay that was marketed to us."
The group is asking the FTC to investigate the practices of the record companies, to invoke civil penalties where appropriate, and to enjoin the companies from violating the Federal Trade Commission Act.
So Clay's gay. So what? While I'm not a fan of homosexuality (I'm glad Brokeback Mountain lost the Oscar for Best Picture), I'm not sure I see what the point of the lawsuit is. Now that these women know he's gay, they're devestated that he'll never marry any of them and allow them to bear his children? (Rolling eyes.) Grow up, little girls, and get a life!

Don't you think you should VERIFY the authenticity of the "SO-CALLED" Clay Aiken fans who have filed this complaint? In fact, these were not even Clay Aiken fans at all EVER. They felt they would get more attention if they "claimed" to be dissatisfied Clay Aiken fans when in fact they are part and parcel of the campaign to "make Clay gay" when in fact he is not. Get your facts straight before spreading unfounded rumour as fact.
LOL! Get a life! Why don't you take this up with all the other news providers who have covered this story? Personally, I don't care whether Clay is gay or not, nor do I care whether the fans listed in the lawsuit are his fans or not. IMO, the lawsuit is frivolous, and perhaps it's part of the "make Clay gay" campaign, as you say, but that's beside the point. The lawsuit, as reported by Contact Music (which I linked to via the title), is a fact, not a rumor. That's what I'm reporting on. It's up to Clay and his management to clear the air regarding his sexuality, not me.

Yes, that is a weird one. I mean...um, wow. Anony must be a Clay fan hold-out for the "not gay" contingient.
Like you, could care about less ol' Clay's sexuality...and don't think it's your responsiblility to verify anyone's authenticity when all you're doing is reporting on what the news reported.
That being said, my first response to the lawsuit was to laugh -- out loud, even. :)
I think Cliff Richard (a Pop singer) from UK is doing the same fraudulent thing. I don't blame Clay's fans for suing. Clay is supposed to be a Christian and if he is lying and pretending to be something he is not then he should be sued. These people are thinking he is a good moral person and Christian and he is not. Just like Jimmy Swaggart and PTL preacher Jim Bakker was not what they said they were. They were buying his products thinking he was a moral person and he is not. Then it is fraud.
yeah if youre a christian you cant be gay after all being a homosexual impairs you ability to have faith in something right. Or to hold to morals. I mean people take things quite literal and assume God's job... it's for him to judge who's a christian and who's not. And screw this freaking lawsuit, I agree that that the women are pitiful and sad... "Oh boo hoo, we can drool over Clay, darn now he will never be my lover" As if it would've happened anyway. Just another scam to dupe the government. They should be ashamed, if anyone's duping anything...it's them.
