I don't know what inspired me to look for this classic science documentary, but it's a good movie to watch just the same. There are a couple of minor errors in it, and a little bit of both the astronomy and knowledge about elemental particles is out of date (Powers of Ten originally came out in 1977), but it's a good primer on a number of topics in both science and mathematics. If your kids have never watched it, show them this movie.
Interesting trivial fact (or not, as the case may be): The soundtrack was written by composer Elmer Bernstein, who did the soundtracks for over 200 Hollywood movies, including The Ten Commandments, The Magnificent Seven, Ghostbusters and Animal House.
